GR Historical Society Concert

Whether it is rehearsals, concerts, working with community organizations or at town events, the Glen Rock Pops is always in motion. Here’s the latest from the Glen Rock Pops:

 

      • Celebrate America’s Birthday With Music  Bring: Chairs, blankets, picnics, enthusiasm and patriotism to the lawn at Glen Rock Borough Hall on the evening of July 3, 2024, at 7:00 PM

        Enjoy great music while supporting the Glen Rock Independence Day Committee and the Glen Rock Pops Orchestra!!!

      • The Pops will begin celebrating its 50th anniversary in September 2024. We are your community orchestra. Come to a Pops concert. Join our Friends of the Pops email list. Support the Pops by clicking on this website’s Donate button to discover new and unique ways to fund the Pops. Help the Pops celebrate its 50th anniversary and beyond.

     

      • As an educational initiative, the Pops will be performing a side-by-side concert with Glen Rock elementary school students. The event will feature an “instrument petting zoo” where students will have the chance to speak with Pops’ musicians after the concert and learn about the instruments in an orchestra.

     

      • As the orchestra no longer has an electric Piano, the Pops has established a Traveling Piano Fund. Click on the Donate button for more details.

     

      • The Pops invites individuals, businesses, and community organizations to underwrite a concert, donate new pieces of music, sponsor the Conductor’s Podium, or a Musical Chair. Click on the Donate button for more details.

Save these 2024 dates:

    • June 2nd at Glen Rock High School 3:00 PM – The 1940’s Radio Show
    • July 3rd on the lawn at Borough Hall – 7:00 PM – Celebrate America – In partnership with the Glen Rock Independence Day Association, the concert will honor the Perry family, Grand Marshals of the July 4th parade. The family has been a seventy-year member of Glen Rock’s commercial establishment on the historic Thurston property on Harristown Road. 
    • September 14th – Thielke Arboretum Concert Time TBD
